| 2007 |
- A grant-in-aid of Rupees One crore twenty five lakh only (Rs. 1 25 00 000/-) was given by the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India for the purchase of a Bhabhatron II radiotherapy cobalt unit. The Bhabhatron was designed by the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre and is indigenously manufactured, a first for India that has resulted in huge cost savings on the purchase of cobalt units that earlier had to be imported.
- More than 184 free camps held, more than 125 000 in the high-risk population examined and more than 1685 free operations performed since January 1989. In the year 2007, 3 camps both diagnostic and surgical were organized. 170 patients were examined and given required treatment & advice.
- From August 15 1995 (the day treatment was started) to December 31, 2007 we have offered radiotherapy treatment to 3 053 patients, of which 1 218 were treated completely free of charge, while charges were partially waived off for 623. In the year 2007, 14 patients were offered radiotherapy, of which for 12 patient charges were partially waived off. The small number for 2007 is a reflection of the fact that we stopped accepting new patients as the radiotherapy centre was undergoing upgradation.
- From the last week of June 2000, when the dharamshala (subsidized accommodation) facility was started till the end of December 2007, more than 350 patients and their families have stayed at our dharamshala while undergoing the 6 weeks of radiotherapy at our Institute, some of these were offered this facility free of charge while there was partial waiver of charges for some others.
- Under the Rajya Bimari Sahayata Nidhi Scheme of M.P. Government, from May 2006 (when we received the recognition) to 31st December 2007, 113 Below Poverty Line cancer patients have been provided treatment.
- So far we have offered palliative care services to more than 850 patients.
- Cancer detection camp and awareness programme held at Ambikapur, Chattisgarh, 50 patients were examined. The awareness programme was attended by members of the Indian Medical Association, Ambikapur.
- A cancer detection camp organized at Sehore.
- A cancer detection camp and awareness progamme held at Guna. 120 patients examined. The cancer awareness lecture was attended by member doctors of Indian Medical Association, Guna.
- A stall giving information on cancer awareness at ‘UtsAha!’ organized by Indian Institute of Management Indore.
- A workshop organized for doctors from Indore. Dr. R. Gopal, a Senior Medical Oncologist from Mumbai, addressed the doctors. During his visit, Dr. Gopal also offered his advice to select chemotherapy patients.
- 60 student participants at the Round Square conference organized by Daly College, visited the institute to get first hand information on the work being done by the Foundation and to interact with some of the patients.
- The Breast Cancer Support Group held its 6 meetings for the year. One of the meetings was converted into a day long affair and it turned out to be a huge success. The support group also organized an eight day Yoga Shivir for its members.

| 2006 |
- Received recognition from the state government of Madhya Pradesh. We can now offer cancer treatment to state government employees and their families. The state government will also reimburse us for treating BPL (Below the Poverty Line) cancer patients.
- The Rotary Club of Indore North (RI-Dist-3040) & Rotary Club of Seoul Poukak (Korea) (RI-Dist-3650) donated an ambulance cum patient carrier under the Matching Grant Program of the Rotary Foundation Year – 2006.
- So far we have offered palliative care services to more than 850 patients.
- Diagnostic camps held at Budhni (610 patients seen, 37 advised to come to Indore for further investigations/treatment) and Nasrullahganj (251 patients seen, 23 called to Indore for further investigations/treatment).
- Training programme cum diagnostic camp at Guna. 68 doctors received training. 601 patients were seen and 53 advised to come to Indore for further investigations/treatment.
- Of the 113 patients advised to come to Indore from Budhni, Guna & Nasrullahganj, approximately 60 came to Indore for treatment (surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy).
- A camp cum training programme was held in Vidisha. 70 doctors from Vidisha attended the training programme. 30 patients were seen of which 11 were advised to come to Indore for further investigations/treatment.
- A diagnostic cum awareness camp was held in Guna in November, the 2nd in this calendar year. 320 patients were examined of which 30 were advised to undergo further investigations/treatment. As a part of the awareness generation activity, talks were given to: general practitioners, elected representatives of panchayats, members of the chapter of the Indian Medical Association, members of the press and members of the Gas Authority of India Limited Officers’ Club.
- A cancer diagnostic cum surgery camp was held in Chhindwara. 350 patients were examined and 27 minor and major surgeries were performed. A talk was also given to the members of the Chhindwara chapter of the Indian Medical Association.
- The Breast Cancer Support Group held its 6 meetings of the year. A positive trend observed in 2006 was the increase in the average number of participants at each meeting. The work of the group is now managed by 2 new coordinators: Mrs. Sunita Gupte, a counselor and daughter-in-law of a support group member; and Mrs. Renuka Tare, a lecturer who has received treatment for breast cancer.
- Awareness talks to ANMs in Dewas district, supervisors of the Women and Child Welfare department of the government of Madhya Pradesh, members of women’s clubs and students at the Barli Development Institute for Rural Women.

- Training in early detection of cancer imparted to approximately 611 doctors and paramedical staff of the government district health set up.

- Tragic loss: The Foundation loses one of it most dedicated doctors, radiotherapist Dr. Shrikant Shastri, in a road accident while the ICF team was returning after the completion of another camp.
